IF YOU HAVE FOUND THIS PAGE, YOU HAVE FOUND THE BEGINNING OF ‘AN ANCIENT PATH’. that SOME WILL CHOOSE TO EMBARK UPON. IT IS FOR YOU THAT I SHARE THOUGHTS GIVEN TO ME, AS I HAVE PREPARED WORSHIP FOR the SMALL CHRISTIAN FREE CHURCH THAT CHRIS AND I ATTEND, ‘THE ROCK CHRISTIAN FELLOWSHIP’. jesus was the door to the start of this path for me at age 16. i am far from perfect and am still only at the beginning of absorbing what he came to teach.
THERE IS a deep seated need IN MANY of us, to disappear inwards, away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. there is a desire to know OUR CREATOR, in a deeper way, and to CONNECT TO OUR inner SELVES. THERE is a spiritual space, ‘the heart of the mountain’, as someone once described it. Sometimes, we are so busy looking at the frenetic surface of life, WE forget there is a calm, ageless core that just is. This temporal body is THE temple OF HIM WHO CREATED IT and it is in that place God LONGS TO dwell. invite him in, this is the place that does not change, because He does not change. i strive to become more aware of this space deep inside MYSELF, because it is unaffected by, the goings and comings of my life, THE VICTORIES, THE PAIN, THE SADNESS, THE JOYS.
SOMETIMES I WALK, not always knowing where I will end up, I am not sure where this project will take me either. It is part of my life journey at this point. it is driven by the desire to understand better, the essence of God Almighty. When I meditate in silence, IT IS CALMING, like my FEET IN THE SEA ON A HOT DAY. I HAVE learned that it helps to have a ‘MIND ANCHOR’, as a FOCUS for my own consciousness, to stop it wandering away on the slightest whim, or new mental breeze. I have added these MEDITATION ANCHORS here. When my mind WANTS TO wander, i repeat the MEDITATION ANCHOR.
it IS hard, TO SIT IN TRUE STILLNESS, but as you practice, because it is exactly that , ‘a practice’ - you will start to feel like you sit in the lap of god, it becomes a peaceful space in a frenetic world.

Instructions For Christian Meditation:
- Find a quiet space
- Pray to God to reveal Himself through His living word to you
- Read the first scripture
- Consider the thoughts
- Read the verse from psalm 119 / Consider the Hebrew letter
- Meditate for at least 10 mins using the ‘Meditation Anchor”
- Remember you are the temple of God
- Prepare to meet Him on the Ancient Path of His word
each meditation guide is tied with a verse of Psalm 119 and a letter of the Hebrew alphabet. I wanted a structure for me to follow as I wrote these thoughts. Psalm 119 is about the importance of hiding His Word in our hearts and living in it. The ancient Hebrew pictograms and meanings of each letter are deep. I wanted to look ‘into the scripture’, not merely ‘on it’ as Matthew Henry’s commentary on Psalm 119 explains so well.
Joshua 1 :8 :
…Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful….
Psalm 48:9 :
….Within your temple, O God,
we meditate on your unfailing love…..
Psalm 77:12 :
….I will consider all your works
and meditate on all your mighty deeds….
Psalm 145:5 :
….They speak of the glorious splendour of your majesty— and I will meditate on your wonderful works!….
